2025 TCM Film Festival Date Announced!
On Tuesday, TCM announced the dates for the 2025 TCM Film Festival–April 24-27. The main hotels in the area: Hollywood Roosevelt (the official hub of the festival), Loews attached to the Ovation Mall (adjacent to the TCL where the multiplex is) seemed to be sold out BEFORE the dates were announced, the Hollywood Celebrity, and the Magic Castle were all sold out almost instantaneously. I am hoping to earn media credentials again and have booked a hotel. However, I am waitlisted at another. #2 on the list–fingers crossed.
This year’s theme is “Grand Illusions: Fantastic Worlds on Film.” The description states: “We invite you on a wondrous journey to enchanted worlds of fantasy and stories beyond belief. From myths and magical creatures to ghostly encounters and travels through time, you’ll escape with fellow movie lovers to places that will ignite your imagination.”
Fantasy and sci-fi aren’t my favorite themes; however in my experience of having attended two of the festivals, I find that not only does TCM play it a bit fast and loose with the theme, they also have a few other themes running concurrently with the main theme. I am confident that I will be able to find things to watch and run into the same excruciating schedule conflicts that I have the past two years.
See filmfestival.tcm.com in the weeks leading up to the festival for more information.
